With a sky-high altitude of 2650 metres, the Ski Amadé area gets excellent snow all season. Plus, a platoon of snow cannons will blast the slopes with fresh flakes if snowfall is scarce. The most popular time to head to Bad Gastein is in January and February, when icy temperatures keep the pistes pristine. But avoid these peak times if you want to enjoy peaceful runs and dodge the crowds.
Check out the Bad Gastein events calendar for heaps of fun events throughout the winter season; ski touring, freeride safaris, and even snow yoga are on the schedule.
