Welcome to Seefeld Ski Resort

For those who like their airport transfers as short as possible, Seefeld is the dream resort – it’s just 30 minutes from Innsbruck airport, making it the perfect weekend getaway.
The resort itself is full of traditional Austrian charms and quite large for its ski area. This means there’s always lots to do in town, from exploring traditional craft shops to eating out.
The skiing is ideal for beginners, being home to 34km of mostly cruisy corduroy pistes, spread between two distinct areas, the 1,500m Gschwandtkopf mountain and the higher and more extensive Seefelder mountain, which offers more possibilities and is served by an efficient lift system.

Best time to ski in Seefeld

One of the best times to go to Austria is when there’s something festive going on, whether that’s Christmas, New Year or what they call Fasching, the pre-Lent carnival when everyone dresses up and parties in late February. Fortunately, that coincides with the best snow cover.
The ski season officially runs from the beginning of December through to the end of March. The weeks leading up to Christmas through to early January are usually busier, so if you’re looking for a quieter time, consider mid-January and then again in late February to early March onwards. Late season is also the time to pick up a bargain.

Things to do in Seefeld

Almost uniquely, Seefeld has more cross-country trails than it does slopes – 245km in total – and is famous for its langlauf. Choose between classic or skate. The former is easier to learn and a more natural walking-running action, following tracks cut in the snow, whereas skate is aerobically more intensive, a bit harder to master, but offers more freedom and finesse. Your inner thighs will not thank you, but you’ll love the tranquillity away from the pistes.
In town, there’s a casino, bowling alley, cinema and swimming pool with spa. Eating out, you’re spoilt for choice, with around 50 restaurants to choose from. The nightlife is less extensive – but if it’s bright lights you’re after, Innsbruck is just down the road.
