Welcome to Borovets Ski Resort

  • Beginner-friendly ski resort
  • Lively aprés scene with rock-bottom prices
  • Short transfers
Borovets, Bulgaria, has become a very popular skiing resort in recent years. And rightly so. Offering great value, fantastic skiing and a fun aprés scene, this place is loved by groups and students. Borovets is also spot on for beginner and intermediate skiers looking for a budget skiing holiday.
One of the largest in Bulgaria, Borovets ski resort boasts cruisy skiing and boarding up to 2,500m. Most of the pistes run through old pine forests, giving the resort a unique charm and good visibility, even when it’s dumping. Freestyle boarders are also made to feel at home, with a 250m-long terrain park and a sick mix of rails, boxes and kickers.
The après in Borovets is just as epic as the skiing. Cheap and cheerful, if you want to party hard, you won’t be disappointed. And, if you’re having too much fun and don’t want the skiing to end, Borovets’ lower ski slopes are floodlit most evenings, so you can get some extra miles in before your first beer.

Best time to ski in Borovets

For a budget Christmas or New Year trip, you can’t beat a Borovets ski holiday. Come January, the slopes quieten down but can be a little chilly, so bring all of your layers. And February is a great month for families looking for a good value half-term holiday in the snow. Thinking of skiing in March? You’ll enjoy warmer temperatures, longer days and even cheaper deals towards the end of the season.

Snow conditions in Borovets

The Bulgarian ski season is generally shorter than the Alps, running from December through March, but the pistes should have a blanket of snow in January and February. If you’re planning a late-season getaway, the snowiest weeks are typically mid-March, and with slopes reaching up to 2,500m, Borovets’ ski slopes stay open later than most other resorts in Bulgaria.

With plenty going on in and around the Borovets ski resort, this location is ideal for beginners and those getting back into snowsports. There is also lots on offer for non-skiers who just want to soak up those mesmerising mountain views.
