Set at the heart of Italy's Alta Badia region, Corvara has some of the best connections to the Dolomiti Superski area. Heaps of blues and reds sprawl down the mountain in every direction, with many running back to the village centre. And if the legendary Sella Ronda route is on your bucket list, this is a fantastic spot to base yourself. Cue big days on the piste! Got newbies in your group? No problem. The gentle nursery slopes are super easy to access from the resort, and once they've mastered the snow plough, they'll be cruising easy nearby blues in no time.
Most of Corvara's lofty pistes sit above 1500m, so the snow is pretty reliable from December to April. And for when dumps are in short supply, 80% of the runs are covered by excellent snow-making facilities. Nice one! February is the best month for fresh flurries, which is ideal for a half-term trip. Or why not treat yourself to a Christmas skiing holiday; Corvara's square comes alive with illuminated cute market stalls, festive singing, and traditional Ladin food. Buon Natale!
