Take one look at Narvik's piste map and you'll get a glimpse of the breathtaking scenery you'll be surrounded by while skiing its blissfully quiet slopes. Norway is renowned for its fjords and Narvik doesn't disappoint. It also happens to be ideally situated if you're keen to tick seeing the Northern lights off your bucket list. On a clear night between November and March there's a good chance that you'll be gazing in awe at nature's most spectacular light show.
As for the skiing, intermediates will feel right at home on Narvik's diverse pistes. And for the more adventurous, the easily accessible off-piste options will keep the powderhounds amongst us grinning. Did we already mention how quiet the slopes are? Yes, the modest 20km of pisted terrain pales in comparison to some of the more well-known ski areas of the French Alps, but the lack of crowds is something the Three Valleys could only dream of. For ski-newbies, there are a handful of beginner slopes but generally, those looking to progress to blues and reds will feel most comfortable.
A trip to Narvik is about embracing nature as much as it is the skiing. For a whiff of the famed 'mountain air', it doesn't get much fresher than Narvik.
