Set upon a southwest-facing mountain terrace, Wengen is sheltered and bathed in glorious sunshine most of the ski season from December to early April. Sunnies on! This does mean that the snow can be a bit temperamental at lower altitudes, but there are plenty of runs higher up the mountain to play on, and lots of snow cannons keep the main slopes topped up.
In January, tens of thousands of spectators arrive to watch the International Lauberhorn Race - the longest downhill Ski World Cup. And don’t miss Wengen’s dazzling Snow Shows during February - expect jaw-dropping tricks, floodlit processions, and fireworks. Boomtastic!
