For non-skiers there’s winter hiking in snowshoes, torchlit walks, cross-country skiing, and shopping. Kitzbühel is home to jewellery, art and design stores, as well as traditional craft shops and sports outlets. For the true Austrian experience, there are horse-drawn carriage rides. In town there’s a cinema, indoor ice skating and bowling.
They are big fans of paragliding here and winter is one of the best and safest times to try the sport, flying down the mountain strapped to a tandem pilot.
Kitzbühel is also home to some excellent restaurants serving everything from traditional Tyrolean meals to gourmet specialities.
