Welcome to Maria Alm Ski Resort

If it’s good enough for FIS ski teams, then it’s good enough for us! Maria Alm is a popular training ground for pros and an intermediate’s dream resort on the outer edge of Austria’s Hochkönig ski area.
Families will love the Funslope Schönanger trail with its jumps, butter boxes, tunnels, and sick berms. Bring on some air time! And big kids can take on the 32km Königstour circuit to become king of the mountain.
Wide tree-lined blues and reds descend five summits and traverse three villages. Admire spectacular views from giant wooden thrones and take a selfie to prove your crowning glory. All hail the king!

Best time to ski in Maria Alm

Maria Alm has a strong community spirit, so Christmas is extra special here. Travel in December to browse twinkling market stalls, sip Gluhwein, and listen to festive carols.
Or, for some end-of-season fun, the hills come alive with the sound of electronic beats and saxophone riffs at the Alpine Craft Festival in March. Drink homemade beer and enjoy traditional Austrian food at this fun-filled fiesta. Prost!
Although not big in altitude, Maria Alm benefits from good natural snow and excellent snowmaking coverage from early December to mid-April. Dial in the flow!

Things to do in Maria Alm

As night falls, head to the floodlit toboggan run to slip and slide down the mountain on retro sledges. And don’t miss the spectacular night show on Tuesday nights - it’s a terrific bonanza of fireworks, torchlight processions, and freestyle tricks. Wowzers!
End a big day on the hill with sundowners and watch the mountains turn pink and orange before heading into town for dinner. The Hochkönig ski region is renowned for its vegetarian and vegan food, so tuck into delicious plant-based regional delicacies. Or, for the ultimate foodie experience, book a culinary Königstour to sample dishes across the entire mountain range!
