Hidden away in a little nook at the end of France's legendary Chamonix Valley, Vallorcine is a laid-back alternative to large neighbouring resorts. Charming and unspoiled, the village gives you access to a sweet mix of tree-lined blues and reds, as well as the wider Balme region. Head over the ridge and cruise down to Le Tour. Or grab the Mont Blanc Unlimited pass to explore challenging pistes across Argentiere and Chamonix. Looking for some free-ride action? Book a local guide to discover some mint off-piste powder bowls and steely drops. Let's go!
Despite being the hidden gem of the Chamonix Valley, Vallorcine is one of the most snow-sure villages in the region, thanks to its decent altitude and proximity to the Pennine Alps. Plus, with access to the vast Chamonix playground, you'll find good snow on higher slopes from December to April. January and February tend to get the biggest dumps of fresh powder. But if you want to avoid crowds during peak times, Vallorcine is a safe bet. Unwind amongst pristine, untouched mountain scenery and enjoy a more relaxed vibe in this remote hideaway. Bliss!
