Due to it's modest 21km of pistes, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Riksgränsen doesn't have a huge amount of skiing on offer. However, the pistes and chairlifts are not what attracts the serious skier to this truly unique Swedish gem. That would be the heli-skiing.
200km north of the Arctic circle, Riksgränsen is a paradise of untouched powder amongst hundreds of peaks only accessible by helicopter, and the choice of where to drop in is between you and the pilot. Happier on marked pistes? You've also got the option of popping over to neighbouring Björkliden on the free shuttle bus.
Riksgränsen is also firmly placed in Aurora Borealis territory, so there's a good chance of spotting the infamous Northern Lights - cameras at the ready!
