Andermatt is a quiet, charming, modern village surrounded by dramatic scenery. This resort is one of the three that make up the Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis ski area, a large ski area great for intermediate to advanced skiers. The slopes are north facing and high altitude making it home to excellent snow conditions as well as some of the worlds best off piste terrain. Andermatt has traditional charm in abundance but continuous investment has given it a modern touch with new connecting ski lifts and luxurious accommodation. An Andermatt ski holiday should be on every serious skiers bucket list.

Best time to ski in Andermatt

The peak of the skiing season in Andermatt is usually from late December to early March. It boasts a great track record for snow and is considered one of the most snowsure resorts in Switzerland. As with much of the Swiss Alps, the colder months of January and February tend to bring the most fresh snow. But if it's sunshine and bluebird days you're after, March is a great time to visit.

If you love the idea of wandering cobbled streets while gazing at traditional Swiss architecture then you're in luck. If a stroll amongst stunning nature is more appealing then you're also in the right place. A variety of Winter hiking trails give you plenty of opportunity to take in the glorious mountain air, just remember to bring your camera!
