Welcome to Jochberg Ski Resort

The charming village of Jochberg is located in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps, halfway between the town of Kitzbühel and the Thurn Pass. It therefore makes a great venue for those who want the excitement and buzz of skiing in Kitzbühel, but with the option to stay somewhere a bit quieter and off the beaten track.
Jochberg itself is home to 24 mostly easy to intermediate pistes, but when combined with Kitzbühel, a total of 230km of slopes becomes available, as well as two terrain parks for freestyle fans. And for fans of lying in a deckchair, Jochberg has you covered – there are 60 huts on the mountain.

Best time to ski in Jochberg

The season runs from December through to mid April. Go early, in December, if you want to sample some of those Christmas and festive vibes, which in Austria includes hot mulled wine and outdoor markets.
January and February offer consistently good skiing with February tending to be more popular due to school holidays. You’re more likely to pick up a bargain in mid to late January.
March onwards you have the benefit of longer days, which mean more opportunities for getting the most out of your time on the mountain.

Things to do in Jochberg

There’s no shortage of alternate activities in the region. Jochberg is home to an 8km cross-country loop. You can also go for mountain walks in snow shoes. In neighbouring Kitzbühel there’s paragliding for adrenaline junkies and extensive shopping and restaurants for those who are not .
On the cultural side Jochberg is home to a mine that’s been around since 1245 BC and visitors can travel 150 metres underground into one of the ancient pits. Work has been going on, so check for opening updates. On the après side Jochberg is definitely a quieter resort than its neighbour, but there are few lively bars in town.
