Best time to ski in Courmayeur

Courmayeur skiing runs from mid-December to mid-April, so take your pick of the best times to go. Italy is generally quieter than France and Austria, so it’s possible to find empty slopes mid-week, especially if you avoid the usual peak periods of Christmas, New Year, and February half-term holidays. You’re also more likely to pick up a bargain outside these times. December is more festive, while January and February are generally cooler and more snow-sure. March onwards, fantastic spring skiing kicks in. Facing south, Courmayeur ski resort gets lots of sunshine, so if skiing in a t-shirt is your thing, book a trip in April.

Snow conditions in Courmayeur

With heaps of the white stuff dumping all season long, Courmayeur ski resort usually has a bumper load of snow. The first flurries settle in December, and the slopes are looking mint by January. The south-facing slopes are magic in February, with sunny bluebird days getting in on the action. And if you prefer a little more warmth, the snowiest week tends to be at the beginning of March, topping up the pistes for some epic springtime skiing.
