Fans of Flaine’s ski resort love the fact you can virtually fall out of bed and be on the slopes – most accommodation is within walking distance or a short bus ride to the lifts. The north-facing bowl above the town also has a reputation for maintaining its snow cover – and the chance to drop in between the pistes.

Best time to ski in Flaine

The best time to ski in Flaine depends on your needs. With free lifts on the beginner slopes, an excellent ski school and childcare facilities, Flaine ski holidays are naturally popular with families. This means it's busier during peak periods around Christmas and February half term.
If you fancy a bargain or want quieter slopes, try skiing in Flaine in January or March. Flaine’s skiing in January might be chilly but it offers great snow, whilst March brings on longer sunnier days.

Snow conditions in Flaine have a great reputation. Flaine’s ski resort is one of France’s snowiest. With a respectable resort altitude of 1,600m and heaps of skiing above 2,000m there's ample opportunity to enjoy some incredible snow conditions in Flaine.
The season runs from mid-December to mid-April, with Flaine’s snow conditions reaching their peak in late January into February. March and April might bring warmer days, but there will still be plenty of great skiing on offer, with big bluebird days and over 50% of Flaine's pistes serviced with top-notch snow cannons.
