Welcome to Courchevel Ski Resort

Courchevel is one of the premier ski resorts of the Alps, situated in the famous Three Valleys area, it’s home to 339 ski runs totaling 600km spread out between the resort, Meribel and Val Thorens.
Courchevel is actually made up of four different villages, from the budget-friendly La Praz to the uber-luxe 1850. Ski purists love it for the variety of skiing on offer – as do beginners as each of the slopes leading back to all four villages of the resort are mainly easy-to-ride greens and blues. They’re also north facing, which means they hold the snow even into spring.
Boarders will love the range of parks on offer offering small, medium and large kickers and jumps. Courchevel of course is also popular with the rich, the famous and the party set – but don’t let that put you off.

Best time to ski in Courchevel

When to go? Whenever you like is the short answer because Courchevel is one of the few places in the Alps that are as snow-sure as you’re ever going to get. That’s because it’s part of the world’s largest ski area with pistes up to 3,200m with one of the most advanced snow-making infrastructures anywhere.
The season opens mid December and lasts until the end of April. The resort boasts that “you’re guaranteed exceptional skiing” throughout. Peak periods are the usual Christmas to New Year slots and February half term. But Courchevel is always popular and happening, so it’s not the place if you’re looking for a quiet resort – or an off-season bargain.

Things to do in Courchevel

As a large ski town, Courchevel has it all, from spas and swimming pools to luxury shopping. For the active, snow hiking, dog sledding, ski-touring and paragliding are all offered here. There’s also ice skating – but we’re not talking an overcrowded little rink here – Courchevel’s was the 1992 Winter Olympics venue, and also hosts ice hockey. For families the 2km toboggan run, descending from 1850 to 1550 is a heap of fun.
As far as the après goes, there is everything here, from Michelin-starred fine dining to dancing on the tables to the beats of the world’s top DJs.
