The best snow at the moment is in the Alps, where the resorts have had one of the best starts to the season in a very long time. There's a lot of snow pretty much everywhere in the Alps, with the deepest snowpacks found in the Western Alps (think France) and Northern Alps (Austria).
There's lots more precipitation forecast for this week, and with temperatures rising much of this will fall as rain. However, this also means there'll be tonnes of fresh snow at higher altitudes, so aim for resorts with pots of skiing above 2,000m. Think Tignes, Val Thorens, Chamonix in France, Engelberg and Verbier in Switzerland, and Solden and Pitztal in Austria.
It's set to stay cold and relatively dry in the Dolomites, so the most enjoyable skiing this week will be found in resorts such as Canazei, Alta Badia and Cortina d'Ampezzo. Outside of the Alps, things are looking great in Norway, especially in the resorts on the East of the country such as Trysil and Hafjell. Lots of snow and cold temperatures.

Top tip: You can choose 'high altitude' as one of the filters in our ski holiday search
For the best chance of fantastic snow throughout the season, choose high altitude resorts. Just wrap up warm as they do tend to be colder too.
