Here are Heidi’s top tips on where to head for the best cheap Easter ski trips that maximise budget, time, and good ol' family fun:
1. Geilo, Norway
One of Norway’s oldest ski resorts, Geilo’s 34km of long, cruisy pistes snaking either side of the valley are a haven for first-timers, beginners, and seasoned skiers alike. Start your Geilo Easter ski holiday by booking little ones onto their first ski lessons at one of the excellent ski schools before letting them practice their snow ploughs on Vestlia’s long greens and blues. The kid-friendly areas at Trollklubben, Kikut, Slaatta, and Havsdalen are also not to be missed, with ski conveyors, platter lifts, gentle runs, and even mini-skier terrain parks with jumps and rails. While your mini mountain goats are busy at ski school, parents can grab the main lift to enjoy an extensive range of blue and red runs while teens take to the newcomer-friendly Geiloparken terrain park for jumps, boxes, and pipes.

They can learn the basics here before joining you on the fantastic beginner pistes at Dromonts and Ecoles in the resort centre.
