Where to go night skiing
What is night skiing?
Looking for a unique type of winter thrill? While it may sound more complicated than day skiing at first, night skiing is a safe and enjoyable activity for all skiers and boarders at any level who want to try something different or pack as many ski hours into their day as possible. On certain nights throughout the year, as the sun sets, many ski resorts illuminate their slopes with floodlights, allowing the public to ski under the cover of the stars and moon.
Night skiing offers unique experiences for all skiers, from first-timers to advanced powder hounds, making it an excellent activity for every member of your group. What started as a nifty way for resort staff to get in some extra slope time has quickly become a highlight for many ski resorts that now choose to stay open past closing for unique night skiing aprés events, including live music, food, drinks, and even firework displays. When does night skiing start?
The time night skiing starts varies depending on the resort. It can kick off as early as 16:30pm under the dark Scandinavian skies of Trysil in Norway or extend as late as 1:00am under the full moon at La Clusaz in France.
